Opportunities for Faculty & Staff
Here at Berea College, sustainability is part of our mission and as we like to say, is everyone’s job. Are you a faculty or staff member who is interested in getting involved on campus to help make a difference? There are a variety of ways faculty and staff can help advance sustainability and bring it into their work, from participating in sustainability programs to serving on committees or volunteering!
Committees
The Tree Committee is a group of staff, faculty, and students who are invested in protecting the tree canopy on campus. The committee seeks to maintain and preserve the natural beauty that our campus is known for, while supporting the incorporation of the Great Commitments and the college's commitment to sustainability in its care.

The Office of Sustainability provides free, self-paced training to anyone on campus throughout the year. Become an official waste ambassador for your next event or rent training games such as sustainability trivia or the recycling sorting game for your department, class, residence hall, or RSO.

Volunteer
Berea College faculty, staff, and students can volunteer to help with one of several environmental service projects on All Peoples of the Earth Day (APOTED). Past opportunities have included tree plantings, invasive plant species removal, mural paintings, and a trail clean up.
Interested in volunteering during APOTED? Check out the bulletin in the spring for a sign-up sheet.
