Kentucky Shakespeare’s The Tempest to be Performed Free at the Pinnacles Amphitheater

March 26, 2026

BEREA, Ky. – The City of Berea and Berea College are partnering to bring Kentucky Shakespeare’s Shakespeare in the Parks tour to the Pinnacles Amphitheater from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.

This free, family-friendly performance invites community members of all ages to enjoy an evening of outdoor theater in one of Berea’s most scenic natural spaces.

Kentucky Shakespeare, the Official Shakespeare Festival of the Commonwealth, is touring a record 46 parks this spring with its production of “The Tempest.”

Performed by a cast of five, this one-act version of Shakespeare’s final play blends magic, mischief, shipwrecks, spirits and humor while highlighting themes of love, forgiveness and renewal. The show runs approximately 80 minutes without intermission.

Kentucky Shakespeare serves communities through the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Central Park, education programs for schools, public performances and community outreach programs.

Now in its 65th season, the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Central Park is the longest-running free, non-ticketed Shakespeare festival in the United States.

As the most comprehensive in-school arts education provider in the Commonwealth, Kentucky Shakespeare serves schools throughout the region with interactive educational programming directly tied to academic standards, helping impact student achievement. Kentucky Shakespeare’s many community programs explore conflict resolution, empathy building and communication, in a range of settings from parks to prisons, from preschools to senior centers.

The performance will utilize a full sound system to ensure clear audio for the audience. Kentucky Shakespeare will also offer sensory tools and noise-cancelling headphones for both adults and youth to ensure an inclusive experience for all attendees.

A food truck will be available on-site throughout the evening, and handicap-accessible seating will be provided.

No tickets or reservations are required for this free community event.
